This past November we hosted our very first Skimsgiving Clinic at North Jetty Beach with the Compound Boardshop and Sarasota County. The turnout for the event was through the roof. We had close to 100 participants that took part in the skim clinic. We are stoked on the turnout and had a blast with our friends in the community.
It is great to see the growth and interest in the sport of skimboarding taking off at our local beaches. The amount of first timers that participated in the event was a new record for us and it was a joy teaching them the fundamentals of skimboarding. We cherish these moments as much as we cherish the joy we see on the kids faces and families for what we do to give back to the youth and future of this sport.
We would like to give thanks to the following organizations that helped make the event happen! The TWIG foundation, Sarasota County Parks and Recreation, and the Compound Boardshop. We would like to thank all our volunteers that came and helped be teachers for the day. Without their help, this event would not have been possible.
Stay safe out there and keep skimming. We hope to see everyone back at the beach sooner than later!
