RECAP | Melaque Skim Magia Day 1
Zap Skimboards lovers, we missed you guys! We are coming at you with the start of the 2026 skim season, down in none other Melaque Mexico with the Skim USA crew and some of our finest! The 2026 Melaque Skim Magia has concluded with day one and boy was it a great one! This year the contest has gone through some changes, with the biggest being that team rider Elian Juarez has taken over contest organizing from team sensei Gerry Valencia. With over 50 local sponsors, 72 entries, and a pro purse of $4,500, Elian killed it, and we are super stoked for him!

EVENT | Melaque Skim Magia This Weekend!
We’re kicking off this new year strong with the Melaque Skim Magia going down in Melaque, MX this weekend! The event takes place January 17-18 and is the first stop on the Skim USA tour and is guaranteed to be a good time!

PHOTOS | Surf Expo Highlights
Another Surf Expo is in the books! The 50th Annual Surf Expo went down this past week in Orlando, FL and you know Zap had to be there. With team riders like Gerardo Valencia, Jason Wilson, Zeke Williams, ET Beaugrand, Nick Forfar, John Akerman, and more stopping by to hang out, it was a rad time indeed. With some brand new shapes for 2026 like Yahir Valencia’s new pro model the Beast, John Akerman’s revamped Whip V4, the Joy Ride XR, and some classics that are back in the line like the Amp & Amp-X, we were hyped to show off the new line to everyone.

The United Skim Tour just dropped their 2026 schedule and it’s packed with awesome events throughout the season. With six stops and each rider's four best results determining the champions, it’s set to be a rad series of events! Plus, unlike years past, the Women’s division is included in all six stops. Alley Oop Skim Camps, located in Dewey Beach, DE, has announced their 2026 skim camp schedule. This includes four 3 day camps running throughout the summer, “Girls Only” sessions, and special training sessions to prepare for the Zap Pro/Am that’s taking place in Dewey Beach! Dates of the event will be announced after the new year but you can check out the information for each camp below and register today!

TRAVEL | Eurotrip Final Week with Sydney Pizza & Elian Juarez
Heyoooo, checking in one last time from Europe before it’s back to reality! We made it to Lisbon safe and sound, grabbed our rental car, and headed straight into the city for some dinner and rest. The next day we woke up early and headed to the beach to meet up with team rider Kika Freire at her home break for a super sick sesh with some other locals! Check out that highlight reel on our Instagrams! The waves were super fun, and the vibes were even more incredible. Much like France, in Portugal you have a pretty short window of good skim due to the tide swings, so we got two pretty sick sessions in, and had tons of fun!

EVENT | John Akerman at the Revel Ruckus Full Send Festival
The first aerial wave throwdown ever to take place in Arizona, the Revel Ruckus Full Send Festival went down at the end of October at Revel Surf Park in Mesa, Arizona. John Akerman was one of the lucky athletes who got an invitation to take part in the event. With his reliable Moto Winch, he headed that way to send it on some man-made waves! With other skim riders like Austin Keen, the Swanson brothers, and more taking part in the event, there was plenty of action going down all weekend.
