Summers in “Slower Lower” Delaware can be fun, but Fall is when it turns on as the tropics start sending pulses of energy into the sandy beach breaks of Sussex County. For Tropical Storm José, Bill Baxter, Evan Price, and I sussed out this nice south face when the wind wasn’t hurting and it got HEAVY. The overcast skies kept the barrels deep, dark green with some fat lips.

The takeoffs on these waves were long and rides were outsized. It definitely made for some solid waves and great pictures.
