September brings some of the best skimboarding conditions in Delaware! The water is warm, oftentimes making the perfect recipe for hurricanes to track up the east coast and send stronger swell to the Delaware coastline. These moments present the best opportunity to ride longer, heavier waves off of jetties and beaches where sand has built up during the calmer summer season.
Earlier this month, team riders Jason Wilson and Sam McCoy eyed a long period south swell from Hurricane Lee that looked perfect for a classic jetty liner session. In typical Delaware form, the swell was far from perfect but did produce a fun day of riding with friends and a few epic moments! The jetty rats were frothing through drastic wind and tide swings in the steamy tropical conditions. Big shout out to Laine DuPont, Will Ashmore, and all the homies who joined.
