There’s tons of different styles of waves when it comes to skimboarding. One of the coolest types of waves, and unfortunately one of the hardest to figure out, is the “sider” wave. But first, what is a “sider” wave anyway?
A “sider” wave is formed when the wash from a set wave bounces off a rock formation, or something similar, to create a wave that pushes from the side and usually forms into a bigger wave at its peak. Think about all those clips from Cabo and you’ll know what we’re talking about.
