Bruno Sá is a killer on the water. Full of style, power, and tech, he’s always a good time to watch when he hits the beach. We wanted to see what he had planned for 2025 so we caught up with him to pick his brain a bit! Check it out below.
ZAP: Bruno! What’s up? How are things down in Brazil?
Bruno: Hey Team ZAP! I’m doing better now — it was a rough start to the year. I actually had to take some time off to focus on my mental health, and I wanted to share that openly to hopefully inspire others to take care of themselves too. It’s so important.
ZAP: What are your plans for 2025? Any sick trips coming up?
Bruno: I’m working on a short film about my journey, and I’m hoping to wrap it up this year. I also might take a trip to Espírito Santo — the waves there can be insane.

ZAP: Do you plan on competing this season?
Bruno: Not this year. I’m taking the season off to focus on myself — mentally, physically, and just get back to training hard. I want to return stronger and fully dialed in next year.
ZAP: Where’s your favorite skim spot?
Bruno: Aliso Beach is still one of the sickest spots I’ve ever skimmed. I’d love to hit it again on a trip with the ZAP crew and a good swell — that would be epic.
ZAP: You have plenty of style and make skimming look so good. Where do you draw your inspiration from for your skimming?
Bruno: Thanks so much — I appreciate that! I get a lot of inspiration from athletes in other sports too. I really vibe with Italo Ferreira’s aggressive style and speed, and Nyjah Huston’s skate flow and video parts always fire me up. That mix keeps my style evolving.

ZAP: What are you doing if you’re not at the beach?
Bruno: I’m pretty much always at the beach! If I’m not skimming, I’m fishing, surfing, or diving. It’s my whole lifestyle — I live and breathe the ocean!
ZAP: Do you have any projects coming up?
Bruno: Yeah! Like I said, I’ve been working on a film about my life and my journey with the sport. It’s been in the works for a while now, and I’m excited to share it once it’s done. I also want to travel more — explore new places and chase good waves to skim.
ZAP: We're stoked to see what you do this season, Bruno! Is there anything else you’d like to tell us to wrap this up?
Bruno: Just super grateful to be part of the ZAP family all these years. I’m hyped for the next chapter and all the cool projects we can create together. Let’s go!
