VIDEO | 44th Annual Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding FULL RECAP
The 44th year of the Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding went down in Dewey Beach Delaware a couple of weeks ago and we are still buzzing over it! With over 200 competitors, a record breaking attendance at a skim contest ever, and over 20 Zap Team Riders, we had a ball! Three full days of action with non-stop pumping waves, the best conditions this contest has seen in a few years, we couldn't get enough!

SESSION | Sesimbra Closes Out an Epic Zap On Tour in Portugal
After an incredible weekend at the Ocean Spirit – UST Santa Cruz, where Yahir Valencia and Alex Yokley claimed the Men’s and Women’s Open titles, the Zap Team headed to Sesimbra on Monday for one final stop before wrapping up the tour.

RECAP | 44th Annual Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding FINALS DAY & PODIUMS
Just like that, one of the most anticipated three-day weekends of the year has come to an end! It was a jam-packed weekend with tons of fun, new memories made, and exciting results that put some extra emphasis on the Zap Team and put them in a great position for some tour titles! Sunday was a day about as classic as Dewey gets. With 5 mph southwest winds, switching a little bit in the afternoon, the beach looked like a wave machine. The weather could not have been better, it was sunny in the morning with some humidity, and some much-needed cloud coverage as we got into the afternoon segment of the day.

With more style than should be legal at his age, Gio Tomasi (aka @SkimGio) is a true Florida kid! He basically lives at the beach and with those dreads of his, he’s definitely bringing plenty of sand back with him when he leaves. ZAP AWARDS | Rider of the Year - Mason Broussard
The All-Terrain Vehicle himself, Mason Broussard, was recently named the Zap Rider of the Year at this year’s inaugural Zap awards. Mason is always grinding, traveling, shredding, and turning heads everywhere he goes. His style is insane, his technical trick bag is deep, his attitude is rad, and he absolutely rips! We’re stoked to not only call Mason a team rider but a friend! Congrats on such a sick 2025, Mason and here’s to 2026!

TEAM | Will Grady Battled An Ankle Injury During Jackalope Fest
Dealing with injuries is never fun, especially if you’re in the middle of an event! That’s exactly what happened to team rider Will Grady at Jackalope Fest. Feeling good and skimming well, he unfortunately tweaked his back ankle while training but decided to push through the pain and compete regardless. A decision that could make or break his contest hopes, it ended up paying off for him with a 4th place finish in Men’s! Nice, Will! We checked in with him to see how he feels about it now that the dust has settled.

One of the newest additions to team Zap is Anthony McFall. Hailing from Melbourne, FL, Anthony knows what it means to be a skimmer in Florida. Working with whatever conditions he can get and improving along the way, we’re stoked to have him on our team. His awesome attitude and stoke is infectious and he fits in with no problem!

RECAP | Jackalope Fest Day 2
Jackalope 2026 was nothing short of epic and non-stop action! Walking onto the beach for finals day, we were met with a doubled swell from Saturday of 2’-4’, barreling whilst still a little too high tide (but would not be an issue) and some light Northwest winds of four to five miles per hour! It was a dreamy day with weather in the low 70’s and the best conditions that we have seen at Virginia Beach since Jackalope came to town!

RECAP | Jackalope Fest Day 1
Jackalope Fest 2026 is here! Finally, one of the most anticipated skim events of the year, and a true team favorite skim contest has arrived. Jackalope Festival, put on by Tribu, is a crossover festival where almost every extreme sport from Moto Cross to skimboarding to vert skating meets in Virginia Beach, Virginia for a 3-day festival of greatness and non-stop action.

ZAP AWARDS | International Rider of the Year - Yahir Valencia
Arguably the most entertaining skimboarder these days, Yahir Valencia is an absolute beast on the water. Hence why his new pro model was dubbed the BEAST! With some of the longest slideouts to waves ever witnessed and power and style to make everything look sick, Yahir is always turning heads when he’s on the water. His 2025 season was filled with awesome trips and top podium finishes.
