Surf Expo went down last week in Orlando, FL, and Zap was right in the middle of the action, hanging out and talking skimboarding with everyone who stopped by! The vibe was electric from the moment the doors opened, and it was awesome seeing so many familiar faces alongside new riders checking us out for the first time. We rolled in with the full collection of USA handmade boards and it was a blast showing them off to both dealers and riders who were eager to see what’s new for 2026.
Our booth was stacked thanks to the presence of Zap team athletes Gerardo Valencia, John Akerman, Leo Freitas, Jason Wilson, CJ Lugo, and more. They weren’t just there to hang out—they spent real time chatting about the line, sharing their knowledge, and answering every question that came their way. Having the team so hands-on always makes the booth special because they live and breathe the boards every single day.
And as if the booth energy wasn’t enough, we scored with the booth being set up right next to a FlowRider, which took the good times to another level. The Zap Freestyle proved to be a killer FlowRider board, and the crowd loved watching John and Gerardo trade turns on the wave. Their style and creativity made for some of the absolute highlights of the entire Expo—people were stopping mid-walk to watch the action go down.
Events like Surf Expo are what fuel the stoke—we get to connect with the community, swap stories, and showcase the craft we put into every board. This year was definitely one for the books, and it reminded us why we look forward to Expo every single year. A huge thanks to everyone who came by the booth, showed love, and talked Zap with us. We can’t wait to keep pushing skimboarding forward and we’ll see you all again next year—bigger, better, and with even more to share!
