That’s it! Call it closing time for everyone here in OBX, the 2026 Outer Banks Skim Jam has found it’s bittersweet ending, and like everyone’s favorite movie, it’s on replay in our heads.
There is no better way to start off finals day than with some in-your-face pro action, and that is exactly what we got! The first Quarterfinal of the day was essentially a final heat in and of itself. Gerardo Valencia vs Mason Broussard. Both guys ripping, launching, and flying with nothing but style, the bar was set high for finals day, coming down to the last seconds of the heat Gerardo pulled out the win over Mason! Up next was Elian Juarez vs Chester Burnett. Elian had an epic heat with combos, like no other and unleashing a new styling frontside and backside 180 re-entry grab. Heat four of the quarterfinals was Eoin Lally vs Liam Barnes, and Eoin absolutely ripped, finding some of the longest lines of the contest, when the sets showed up, he was on them. Advancing with ease while taking to the lip, sky, and flats Eoin ripped!
Straight into the Semifinals, Gerardo took on Eoin and Elian took on Dane Cameron. Gerardo and Eoin went back and forth all heat, this Semifinal had everyone on the edge of their seats! Both guys taking to the air with grabs, re-entries and tricks that blew minds; from bigger spins to 5-shuvs they did it all. Eoin pulled out the win in the last few minutes and was onto his third final of the 2026 season! Elian came out firing on all cylinders with 720 spins out to cover-ups, more grab re-entries, and combos that looked so effortless, in a bit of a back-and-forth heat, Elian came out on top in the last three minutes and held it to make it to his second professional final! This was getting too good to be true!
We took a quick break from the men, to give the pro women their time to shine. Syd and Nicole ripped, no surprise there, but both of their skill levels are constantly improving, and we saw every bit of that this weekend. A close final between our two rippers but in the end, Syd took the dub with her smooth style!
Back to the men, it was finals time. Gerardo vs Dane Cameron, Gerardo, built his house out of brick showing that his place on the podium was not up for grabs, he launched full rotation air, 5 shuvs, and 360s out to waves. Securing a very well-earned 3rd place! Finals time, and with Zap on top no matter what, it was all smiles all day. A well fought battle for both guys, but with a dominating performance, Elian took home his first ever professional win, and we could not be prouder! He ripped and cleaned house all weekend, with innovation and style like no other!
As if that wasn’t enough, it was finals from there on out. The Legends came quickly after with the Senior Grandmasters, and Masters where our tent Master, Alex Bevard put up a good fight and finished with a solid 4th place against some of the toughest competition he’s faced this season!
Straight into the Semi-Pro Semifinals and finals, Evan Rubin and Brady Crall, in their respective Semifinals and finals did great. Brady, relying on his aerial finesse as the waves started to die off due to the rising tide, pulled out some pretty epic airs. The most notable being a frontside 180 lien air. Not to mention his clear straight airs, re-entries and stylish backside and frontside hacks, landing him the top spot on the podium! Evan with reliable three shuvs out, backside lines to three shuvs and hits off the lip finished in 4th place for the weekend.
Then the Men’s final, where our boy Brady killed it again! He had some epic effortless and stylish lines, combos and more airs that won him a 2nd place finish for the weekend! The Women’s Final got underway and was insane, our girl Willow Huellemeier had a great performance showing both frontside and backside abilities mixing in some flat ground three shuvs, earning her a 4th place finish for the long weekend. The Junior Men finals and Junior Women Finals, show great promise for the future of skimboarding, as always.
Next stop, Dewey Beach! We'll see you there!
