RECAP | PCB Skim Jam Day 1

Words: Sydney Pizza // Photos: Garet Pearson

PCB or Bust is the mantra for the weekend and that’s exactly what we’ve seen so far at the first day of the 2026 PCB Skim Jam presented by Shore LB, Mr. Surfs and Skim USA! With beautiful weather, some shin high liners and a slight breeze coming from west picking up as the day went on, PCB was pretty picture perfect today!

Our crew is super stoked to be hanging out, skimming and in some warm weather. Starting the day off strong our “Man Behind the Mask” Alex Bevard got Team Zap going in the Grandmasters seeding heat, ripping it up, and throwing stylish combos to take an easy dub and get the crowd ready for tomorrow’s show!

From there our Pro Men and Women hit the water, and whilst not our usual crew the boys and woman showed up and killed the opening heats, setting the team up for a great weekend result! Nicole, gave a clinic on making the best out of nothing, throwing 3 shuvs and big spins out the back, bigger spins on flat and some nice lines to 3 shuvs, exemplifying just how far women’s skimming has come! On the men’s side Eoin Lally, Dylan Duncan, and Zach Rubin are holding it down for the crew. All the boys advanced so we will have some nice hardware coming home with us this weekend! Eoin absolutely dominated the day dropping huge and stylish re-entries off of knee-high waves, air shifties out and 3 shuvs back in, he had a field day having fun and giving it his all! Tomorrow we are set to see Zach and Dylan face-off for a spot in the final and Eoin and local Lance Richardson in heat two.

Rounding out the most competitive divisions of the sport, Semi-Pro, Men, Masters, and Jr. Men, team riders Evan Rubin, Nick Forfar, Will Grady, Dylan Dubrow and Yuan Bonhayag, all had great days and advanced in their respective age divisions showing the bright future that is in store for team Zap! These boys don’t only have a deep bag of tricks and combos but style for miles! Finals day is looking bright for team Zap, with both Evan and Nick in the Masters final; Yuan in the Junior Mens final; and Will Grady in the Mens final.

To wrap up the day, our Boys Bashers, Gio Tomasi and Brody Chandler-Thompson are absolutely dominating their new division, throwing combos like nothing, and like their fellow team riders upping the ante, like no other! Brody had great frontside bashes, backside liners to 3 shuvs, and backside 180 airs, he had a great day! Gio backing him up on his backside, with pop shuv it grabs, liners to 3 shuvs, and big spins, and so many combos on the flats that his board was spinning like a pizza! Great job today boys!
