Spring Fling Skim Jam week is finally here! The most anticipated weekend for the whole Zap crew in Nokomis has arrived, and to get the weekend festivities kicked off, we had some very special guests in town for our usual Thursday Night session. Joining us from international waters are team riders Emanuel “Mega” Embaixador from Portugal, Elian Juarez, and Pablo “Machete” Real from Mexico. It was a fun and action-packed Thursday evening, with the regular crew and some special guests getting all the local rippers hyped for the weekend!
Moving into Friday, Team Manager Sydney Pizza brought the Alley Oop Skim ways and vibes down from Delaware for a free clinic from 5pm-6pm to make sure everyone is in tip top shape for the weekend! It has become one of our favorite moments of the weekend, getting to watch our veterans and younger team riders share their knowledge and help the next generation of skimmers. Mason Broussard, Eoin Lally, Zeke Williams, ET Beaugrand, Elian Juarez, Kate Warrington, Anthony McFall, Zach & Evan Rubin, Willow Huellemeier, Brody Chandler-Thompson, and Nick Forfar were among the instructors leading the charge, and getting some warm-up waves in too! It was a super successful clinic with over 30 kids in the water shredding and tearing up the contest site, getting all their tricks ready for this weekend.
