Skim to Breathe is a one-of-a-kind skimboarding event that has a goal to raise both money and awareness for lung cancer research through an organization called LUNGevity. It is being organized in memory of Jennifer Brock who passed away from lung cancer in 2010 having never smoked a cigarette in her life. Skim to Breathe is taking place on August 4th at the Northside beach of Indian River Inlet in the Delaware Seashore State Park. There will be competitions in 3 different age groups 12-14, 15-18, and 19-Up. There will also be clinics for beginner, intermediate and advance skimmers. There will be food, raffles, auctions, music, and much more. The competitions are $20 and clinics are $10. To sign up, donate, and to find out more, go to www.skimtobreathe.com.
