Life is full of choices. Some are simple, some are more complex. For this edition of “This or That”, we caught up with team rider and pro women’s shredder Sydney Pizza to hit her with some rapid fire questions to see where she stands on some things! What are your thoughts on what Sydney picked below? Check it out now!
ZAP: Dawn patrol or sunset session?
Syd: Dawn patrol, always. There's nothing better especially in the middle of summer, early start to the day, good waves, that's perfection!
ZAP: Photos or video?
Syd: Hmmm photos. Only because it leaves more to the imagination and you can write your own story with a picture, plus they say it is worth a thousand words! Lol
ZAP: Frontside or backside?
Syd: Backside! I love a fat backside goofy bowl.
ZAP: Tech tricks or stylish maneuvers?
Syd: Stylish tech tricks, especially if you would ask baby Syd lol. Tech wins all day, there's so much intricacy to it that you can make it look and feel so good!
ZAP: Airs or slashes?
Syd: Slashes. I am trying to get better at them, and throw more spray with my turns in general. I think it forced a snappier turn which is a bit more technical and different from my natural style than a longer drawn out turn.
ZAP: Skimming Dewey Beach or Mexico?
Syd: That's hard. Mexico is incredible and pushes me to be better and go harder, but there's no place like home, so I'm gonna have to say Dewey on a primo day is where it's at!
ZAP: Chill or hype session?
Syd: Chill. Skimming is where I destress and clear my head, remembering that is always key for me; it brings me back to my roots.
ZAP: Liners or wraps?
Syd: Wraps! There's no better feeling than nice turn to a driving barrel.
ZAP: Cold water with epic conditions or warm water with mid-conditions?
Syd: That's a tough one. It depends on how cold. If it's dead of winter and I'm in a full with booties and gloves, I'm gonna have to pass. But if it's chilly, then I'll tough if out, especially if JDub is around...lol
ZAP: Skim date with Elian or shred with a full crew?
Syd: Skim date with Elian all day haha! I love a good crew sesh, especially at home, but life is so busy now, that having that time together to do something we both love and can connect with is extra special!
