One of the newest additions to team Zap is Anthony McFall. Hailing from Melbourne, FL, Anthony knows what it means to be a skimmer in Florida. Working with whatever conditions he can get and improving along the way, we’re stoked to have him on our team. His awesome attitude and stoke is infectious and he fits in with no problem! Find out more about him below and make sure to drop him a follow HERE!
ZAP: Anthony, congrats on making the team. What does it mean to you?
Anthony: It means a lot! Ever since I started skimming, I've been surrounded by and skimming with Zap team riders. So to actually be a team rider is so sick and it’s always rewarding being recognized especially by the best team out there.
ZAP: Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from, how long have you been skimming, where’s your favorite spot, whatever you like!
Anthony: I’m born and raised in Melbourne FL and have been here my whole life. I started skimboarding 7 years ago with my buddies that just asked me to come out to try it with them and started to take it more seriously and began competing around 4 years ago! My favorite skim spot would probably have to be Sebastian Inlet. When there's good waves there, the water is crystal clear, and close to home…you can’t beat it!
ZAP: Who are some of the team members you’re stoked to hang and skim with?
Anthony: I’ve hung out and skimmed with a good chunk of the Zap team and it’s always a great time and same vibes that we left off on since we last saw each other. I’m looking forward to traveling to more contests and meeting and hanging with some of the international riders I've never met before.
ZAP: What are your plans for 2026?
Anthony: In 2026 I really want to get more tech and put some flat ground work in. Where I’m from, there are waves about 90% of the time so I never really practice flat. This year I plan to work on it a lot so I can better my combos and overall contest performance.
ZAP: What’s your go-to Zap board and why?
Anthony: My go-to Zap board is definitely the Fuse-X. I feel like it's a great board for all around conditions. It can be flat, small waves, big waves, wind chop, or whatever the conditions, the Fuse-X does well in. Also a perfect board for someone looking to step up to the next level in progression.
ZAP: What’s your favorite skim memory so far?
Anthony: Hard to say, there's been tons of amazing memories but I would probably have to say watching Zeke Williams go at it with Lucas Fink and Timmy Gamboa at the Vero contest. Zeke and I are really close and although he got 3rd, I have never seen him skim that well and I was beyond stoking on the beach!
ZAP: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us or anyone you’d like to thank?
Anthony: I’d like to give a huge thank you to all of the Zap crew, for giving me this opportunity. Thank you to all the staff who are always grinding getting our gear, boards, pads, everything we need ready for us. Thank you to my best friend Zeke for really getting me into this sport, and MASSIVE shoutout and thank you to Robbie for always treating me like family and pumping out the best boards in the world!
