VIDEO | '24 Zap Pro/Am World Championship of Skimboarding Recap

The ‘24 Zap World Championship of Skimboarding isn’t our favorite contest because we sponsor it…it’s our favorite contest because there’s no place quite like Dewey Beach, DE! The atmosphere, the beach, the waves, the town, the people, and the vibes are always on point and make for the best weekend every season.  However, this year was a bit different with the presence of Hurricane Debby trying to rain on our parade, figuratively and literally. This made for some pretty tricky conditions for the riders on the first day of the contest but luckily for everyone, the storm moved on and we had much more “Dewey-like” conditions for the remainder of the event.

'24 Mulligan's Skim Jam THIS WEEKEND!

The fifth stop of the United Skim Tour, the ‘24 Mulligan’s Skim Jam, presented by Shore Lb., in Vero Beach, FL goes down on Aug. 30-31st! This contest is in its 17th year and it only gets better and better every year! This event counts towards both pro men and pro women’s standing on the UST and with the scores being as close as they are, this contest will definitely have an impact on the overall outcome! This is also the first time since 2019 that the Shore Lb. team is bringing the UST back to Florida! Our boy Gerardo Valencia took the win last year. Will he be able to do it again? Only time will tell! Check out the recap video from last year’s event above as well as photos below to get hyped for it! You can also find all the info you need about the contest below so make sure to come hang out with us and enjoy some skimming!

EVENT RECAP | 30th Annual FL Pro/Am Podiums & More!

The 30th Florida Pro/Am hosted by RDS Skim Company went down on August 17th and 18th at Vilano Beach, FL. With the team fresh off a great weekend at the Zap World Championships in Dewey, the crew was looking forward to a fun contest back in Florida! The contest format that Steve Pullara from RDS uses provides a great environment for competition with the Amateur divisions. Every rider gets an opportunity to skim two heats with the first round being a placement round where the competitors are all seeded and no one is eliminated yet. This makes for a laid back atmosphere and promotes growth among riders getting their first taste of skim contests.

EVENT RECAP| Zap Pro/Am World Championship of Skimboarding - Finals Day & Podiums

The 42nd Annual Zap World Championships took place this past weekend in Dewey Beach. For one of the most anticipated events of the summer, the event did not disappoint.. In total, there was over 200 riders that entered to contest which made it the largest event of the summer. Every year the event continues to grow and it’s a testament to the skim community in Dewey Beach and all the hard work that Jason Wilson and the team at Skim USA put in. It takes a lot of work to put together these events and we can’t thank all the volunteers, sponsors, riders, and skim parents that make it all possible.

VIDEO | Zap Skimboards in Rio De Janiero

Last month, team riders Gerardo Valencia, Yahir Valencia, and filmer Devin Demenezes loaded up to head to Brazil to compete in the Sununga Skim Pro, a legendary contest at the infamous Sununga Beach, aka the skim capital of Brazil. That’s not all the guys had in store for this trip however. One of our newest team riders, Leo Freitas, just so happens to be from Rio de Janiero so why not put that to good use and make him be our tour guide?!
