TEAM | First Pro Win With Eoin Lally

Eoin Lally is a humble skimmer from Iewes, DE. He may not be the loudest guy in the line up but he lets his skimming do the talking. Full of style and technical ability, Eoin is always fun to watch, whether it be during a free ride session or in a contest. He recently just took his first PRO win so we thought we’d catch up with him to see how it feels and what he has planned for the future. Check it out below!

ZAP: Eoin! How are you man? What's been going on?
Eoin: I’ve been doing good and feel like I’m on a roll this year. I feel very lucky to have these opportunities and really looking forward to the rest of this season.

ZAP: That's great to hear! Congrats on the big win at PCB dude! How do you feel about it?
Eoin: I’m hyped on the win. I feel like it opened the door for another win this season!

ZAP: Did you expect the weekend to go the way it did?
Eoin: I knew in the free skim that I was in the flow state. It was an amazing time with my mom, cousins and skim fam so I was going home happy either way!

ZAP: What was going through your head in that final? Was it any different because it was with a fellow team rider, or were you locked in the whole time?
Eoin: Honestly, not much was going through my head other than controlling breathing and picking rides with good scoring potential.

ZAP: How does it feel to have your first pro win under your belt?
Eoin: I’m stoked about it! It feels good and I’m hoping it’s the first of many!

ZAP: What was your reaction when you realized you won? How did it feel?
Eoin: I actually kept looking at the scores because it didn’t feel real. I told my mom that morning that the ocean loves me and when I won, I gave her a big hug.

ZAP: What is your mindset like going forward? Has it changed since PCB?
Eoin: Yes, I have a new approach this season with my trick selection. And since the win I’ve doubled down on practice. I plan to shock the crowds with big airs this season!

ZAP: This was your first contest of the 2026 season, what was your off season like?
Eoin: My off season was fantastic. I've been working a new job doing glass installation, making pickles and skateboarding to keep my balance up.

ZAP: What would be your golden piece of advice for any groms or peers that look up to you?
Eoin: Definitely get your tail high when you do airs, avoid over pumping to stay smooth and throw spay when you connect with the wave.

ZAP: Anyone in particular you want to thank or any last remarks?
Eoin: I would like to thank all my sponsors, especially Zap Skimboards! Having the highest quality board under my feet keeps me riding my best! I would also like to thank all the families that show up to these events that keep the sport thriving along with skim USA making it all possible.
