PHOTOS | John Akerman & Motowinch Getting Waves!
When you need someone to “send it”, John Akerman is always at the top of the call list. And when there are some waves in the forecast, he’s the first person out at the beach waiting for them to roll in. He recently got the call at Flagler Beach that the waves were coming in so he called up the crew, loaded up the winch, and hit the beach. He was joined by surfer Robby McCormick, aka Rasta Rob, and photographer Patrick “Tupat” Eichstaedt to get some shots. Check them out now and get hyped to skim!

EVENT | Skimas in March Info on March 22nd
“Skimas in March” is a charity skim event with all the proceeds going to the Piper’s Angels Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis research. Our team rider Casey McCullough-Kiernan has worked closely with them in the past and we are stoked to support them again.

This past weekend the team met up at Sebastian Inlet, Florida for the second stop on the 2025 SkimUSA tour, the ShoreLB Throwdown. With top performances from team riders, new and old, good vibes, and a new broadcasting addition to skimboarding, it was a fantastic weekend as the crew threw down and made lasting memories!

This weekend (2/22-2/23), the first stop of the Shore Lb. Triple crown is going down at Sebastian Inlet in Melbourne, FL. NEWS | Welcome Nicole Phillips To Team Zap
Nicole Phillips is a local Florida shredder that hails from Apollo Beach. She took home the overall Skim USA tour crown for the Women’s division in 2024 and is eying it down again for 2025! We’re stoked to have this up-and-coming ripper on the team and we’re always hyped when the ladies are pushing it! Nicole joins the ranks of Sydney Pizza, Casey Kiernan-McCullough, Alex Yokley, Kika Freire, Emma Okoniewski and Kate Warrington as the newest female member of the Zap team. RECAP | Skim Fiesta 2024
Skim Fiesta 2024 went down at Wipeout Beach in La Jolla CA on 12/14/24. It was a free event that had an awesome turnout with our very own Alex Yokley taking the win for the open women. SESSION | Spider-Man Shreds!
When Spider-Man shows up for a shred, you drop what you’re doing and you check it out. The man behind the mask, Gerardo Valencia, could definitely be confused for Spider-Man because of his quick reflexes. If you’ve ever seen him skim in person, you definitely know what we’re talking about. He has a keen sense of where to be on the beach and how to get some of the best waves of each session. Adding a mask to the equation definitely didn’t make it easy but Gerardo handled it like a champ.
