The All-Terrain Vehicle himself, Mason Broussard, was recently named the Zap Rider of the Year at this year’s inaugural Zap awards. Mason is always grinding, traveling, shredding, and turning heads everywhere he goes. His style is insane, his technical trick bag is deep, his attitude is rad, and he absolutely rips! We’re stoked to not only call Mason a team rider but a friend! Congrats on such a sick 2025, Mason and here’s to 2026! Check in with him below.
ZAP: Mason, congrats on being named Zap’s RIDER OF THE YEAR! How does it feel?
Mason: It’s pretty crazy! We have the best of the best of very talented skimboarders on our team and feel crazy to be Rider of the Year for the 1st time they are doing awards with Zap! I’m so stoked.
ZAP: What would you say is your best moment from the 2025 season?
Mason: I’m not sure what my best moment was because it was such a rad year all around, but I just love being about to get out and skim with everyone from all over the place getting to do what we love! It’s what it’s all about!
ZAP: What about your favorite moment?
Mason: My favorite moment would probably have to be getting a Pro Model! I didn’t really see it coming and that made it more special for me! The feeling of seeing my name on a board is just unreal.
ZAP: Looking back at 2025, is there anything you would change?
Mason: There’s not much I’d really change! I got to go to tons of contests, see friends from all over the place, and go out of the country for the first time! Also got to surf and explore Tahiti and I’ll never forget that! It’s a big world out there so go explore it!
ZAP: What are your plans for 2026?
Mason: I’d say do as many contests as I can and spend time with family when I’m not traveling and working!
