It’s that time of year again and we’re stoked! Join us every Thursday afternoon/evening at Nokomis Beach for the Zap Thursday Night Skim Sessions! We had a blast doing this weekly last year. PHOTOS | Team Zap Warming Up In Cabo
Part of the Zap team has touched down in Cabo to get ready for the El Rey de Lovers contest, as a part of the United Skim Tour. Once they touched down in Mexico, they wasted no time and headed straight to the beach. Team riders Gerardo Valencia, Yahir Valencia, Mason Broussard, Dylan Duncan, Leo Freitas, Romario de Sousa, and Pablo “Machete” Real traded off hits and brought the stoke after each ride.

Zap Skimboards is stoked to announce our exciting partnership with the legendary Jersey Shore Skim Camp (JSSC)! Founded on a simple desire to share the stoke, JSSC has grown into a cornerstone of the local skimboarding scene. We sat down with the founder, Felicia Stratton, and some of the awesome instructors who make the magic happen, to learn more about this beloved camp's success and the incredible community it has fostered.

RECAP | 2025 Panama City Beach Skim Jam
Hello skim world, Zap Skimboards Team here checking back in after an amazing weekend in Panama City Beach, Florida. While conditions were not picturesque, the blustering winds provided workable conditions for the team to show down with and represent! We had a consistent 20-mile per hour wind coming out of the northeast that would build as the day went on, providing difficult conditions, where local knowledge was key, yet allowing for a bump in the water to show pushing for a fun regular-footed backside liner and a random barrel here and there.

Part of the Skim USA tour, the Panama City Beach Spring Skim Jam, presented by Shore Lb and Mr. Surf’s Surf Shop, is going down next weekend in PCB, FL on April 5-6th! This will be stop #2 of the Shore Lb Triple Crown as well as the third stop of the Skim USA tour.

RECAP | 2025 Melaque Skim Contest
This past weekend we tapped into warmer weather as we got to watch our Mexican Monsters put on a show at the Melaque Skim Contest, in none other than dreamy Melaque Mexico. The weather was great and the boys had a good time representing Zap and getting to show some of what they have been working on as the skim season starts to kick into high gear.

PHOTOS | John Akerman & Motowinch Getting Waves!
When you need someone to “send it”, John Akerman is always at the top of the call list. And when there are some waves in the forecast, he’s the first person out at the beach waiting for them to roll in. He recently got the call at Flagler Beach that the waves were coming in so he called up the crew, loaded up the winch, and hit the beach. He was joined by surfer Robby McCormick, aka Rasta Rob, and photographer Patrick “Tupat” Eichstaedt to get some shots. Check them out now and get hyped to skim!

EVENT | Skimas in March Info on March 22nd
“Skimas in March” is a charity skim event with all the proceeds going to the Piper’s Angels Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis research. Our team rider Casey McCullough-Kiernan has worked closely with them in the past and we are stoked to support them again.
