EVENT | Lavallette, NJ Skim Comp on July 19th!
The Lavallette, NJ Skim Comp is more than just a competition for John Fata, it’s part of something bigger. A culmination of days spent at the beach and passion poured into the sport of skimboarding. On July 19th, it all goes down on Brown Ave in Lavellette, NJ. There will be divisions for everyone and all are welcome to compete. TEAM | Alex Yokley in Brazil
The Sununga Skim Pro in Sununga Brazil is one of the wildest events of the year. The wave at Sununga is unlike anything most skimmers ever get to experience so for Alex Yokley, it was definitely a learning experience. She made the trip with plenty of time ahead of the contest to get familiar with the area and the wave but in true Sununga style, it threw her some curve balls. Some days it was flat, some days it was too big, and the other days were all over the place! We chatted with her to see how she felt about her first Sununga trip and how it all went down.

SESSION | Free Lessons with the Huntington Beach Skim Club & Turner Scarborough
On a sunny Saturday morning in Huntington Beach, the tide was just right, the vibes were high, and stoke was in full effect as the Huntington Beach Skim Club hosted a free skimboarding clinic for riders of all levels. From first-timers to rising shredders, this event was all about building community, spreading knowledge, and sharing the pure joy of riding waves right off the sand.

NEWS | Welcome Romário de Sousa to the Team
Romário de Sousa is a Brazilian rider from Vitoria, Espírito Santo. He caught our eye some time ago and now was the perfect time to bring him on the team fresh off his Brazilian National Championship title in 2024. Romário brings a lot of style and power to team Zap and joins his Brazilian brethren on the team, Leo Freitas and Bruno Sá. We’re stoked to see what he has in store for 2025.

NEWS | Welcome Nicole Phillips To Team Zap
Nicole Phillips is a local Florida shredder that hails from Apollo Beach. She took home the overall Skim USA tour crown for the Women’s division in 2024 and is eying it down again for 2025! We’re stoked to have this up-and-coming ripper on the team and we’re always hyped when the ladies are pushing it! Nicole joins the ranks of Sydney Pizza, Casey Kiernan-McCullough, Alex Yokley, Kika Freire, Emma Okoniewski and Kate Warrington as the newest female member of the Zap team.
